An initiative to empower lives

A vocational training center for young girls and women to make them self-reliable while giving them the opportunity to earn and be financially capable.

At VatsalyaGram, we believe that women should be empowered by giving them the opportunity to learn industry skills, making them capable of earning for themselves and their families to lead a respectful life. Udyamita, a cottage industry and vocational training centre at VatsalyaGram is a place where women of VatsalyaGram and its neighbouring villages are trained in vocational courses so that they can contribute to the family income.

World class vocational training centres for young girls and women

The women are given training in skills such as beautician’s course, papad and pickle making, handicrafts and many other kitchen items to allow them to become independent and contribute to the household income. There are currently two vocational training centers in VatsalyaGram under Udyamita. In this fast, moving and modern world, computer knowledge has become a must to excel in almost any field and we at VatsalyaGram wanted the women and girls to also have the digital literacy which is a key factor in achieving goals in this digitally modern world.

The initiative was further strengthened when we collaborated with Micro ST Lab, a French Italian MNC headquartered in Geneva (Switzerland) and a global leader in the manufacturing of semiconductors to provide computer training to women at Udyamita. A fully-equipped Computer Lab has been set-up at “VatsalyaGram” for the same. Trainees are also awarded certification after successful completion of the course.
